Running cPanel on Amazon's EC2 Platform
Posted by Brent S. on 12 December 2011 04:42 PM

Can I install cPanel within an Amazon EC2 cloud instance running RHEL or CentOS?

Amazon EC2 is not a supported platform for cPanel/WHM at this time. There are users who have successfully installed and utilize cPanel within EC2 but they do so at their own risk and do not have the ability to contact cPanel's support department for support or bug fixes if/when issues arise.

Touch Support system administrators strongly suggest selecting a different platform such as a VMWare-cloud environment, stand-alone physical server or OpenVZ/Xen virtual private server. Our system administration team has limited experience with Amazon EC2 and any support or migration service we would consider providing would be custom work billed at our hourly rate with no guarantee of a working configuration or ongoing support for the EC2 environment.
